The 2015 Pike Road Chardonnay is a rich and fruity take on this classic Willamette Valley white wine.

How We Make Our Chardonnay

Pike Road Chardonnay is hand-picked then gently pressed. The juice is then cold fermented in French oak barrels (35% new/65% neutral) to create a lightly oaked, full bodied white wine. Finally, our Chardonnay is finished with a screw-cap so that it tastes as fresh as the day it was bottled.

Pike Road Chardonnay is made from 100% Willamette Valley fruit. Primarily grown on our estate vineyards, the wine also includes smaller lots of fruit grown by our longtime, trusted partners here in the Willamette Valley. We believe this “multi-vineyard” approach results in a more complex, flavorful wine.

The 2015 Vintage

The 2015 Vintage 2015 was another warm year for Oregon’s Willamette Valley. The growing season began early with fine weather during bloom leading to a larger than average fruit set. In spite of generous thinning, sunny summertime weather meant a plentiful crop that was ready early. To avoid overripe fruit, harvest was compressed into a busy three-week period. Thankfully, cool nighttime temperature ensured we did not lose the classic freshness that is a hallmark of great Willamette Valley wine.
